Bridal Shower Cake
This weekend I made a bridal shower cake for my step sister. It had red and black flowers to match the shower invitations. The cake was red velvet with a butter cream frosting (my favorite flavor of cake and my aunts famous recipe ). To decorate the cake I used the new Cricut Cake, which is a machine that helps cut out the different designs for a cake which can make it alot easier to cut multiple things that are the exact same size, I used it to make the flowers, ring and the letters for bride. To finish it off I used ribbon around the bottom of both layers which can be removed before cutting the cake.
Bananas Foster
Not only is bananas foster my favorite desert, but dipping a rice crispy treat, marshmallows and more in it is sooo good!!! This weekend I went to The Melting Pot ( a fondue restaurant ) with a couple friends for desert. The bananas foster is described in the menu as " Silky, white chocolate swirled with bananas, brown sugar and a dash of cinnamon." This is all put together in front of you at the table and served with a plate of strawberries, bananas, chocolate and cinnamon covered marshmallows, brownies, pound cake, cheese cake and my favorite rice krispy treats all for you to dip in the bananas foster fondue. The atmosphere at The Melting Pot is very relaxed and unique, for an upper class restaurant the price was reasonable at $16 for a small pot that feeds 2 people and $32 for a large pot that feeds 3-4 people. The waiter was very friendly and helped explain all the items on the menu. I will most definitely be going back to The Melting Pot and recommend it as a place enjoy a different type of meal.

Chocolate Wave
Today I tried the Chocolate Wave from Red Lobster. If you really like chocolate you would love this, its a huge slice of warm dark chocolate cake, layered with a thick chocolate icing, and then coated with mini chocolate chips. Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and topped off with a hot fudge sauce drizzled allover. The taste was rich and the combination of the warm cake and cold ice cream blended perfectly. Red Lobster priced this item at $5.99 which I thought was very reasonable for the portion size, it could easily feed 2-3 people. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and the presentation of the plate was ok the chocolate sauce could have been more evenly drizzled over the plate.
